Aimed at:

The course is for delegates who have operational responsibility in the events industry working for venues, event organisers, conference organisers, exhibitors, promoters and contractors and party organisers.   The 2 day course is only open to those who already have an IOSH Managing Safely certificate and who need to update it.

Criteria for update
Delegates whose certificate is less than 3 years old need to take the re-certification course before their certificate expires at the three year point, or they will have to do the full four day course again.

Objectives:

Fully accredited by IOSH delivered by one of our training partners, this course follows the IOSH Managing Safely Syllabus in outline but has been tailored for the events industry.

The overall aim is to update the delegate’s knowledge from their original IOSH Managing Safely course to ensure that they continue to:

Work more safely themselves
Manage safety more effectively
Contribute to the health and safety management of their organisation

Specific aims are:

The continued understanding of the risk management process of running an event.
To maintain an internationally recognised standard that is the basic requirement for competent operational management in most sections of the events industry as required by law.

Method:

There is a 30-minute written assessment which delegates are required to pass before a certificate can be awarded. There is no project. On completion delegates receive a full new certificate for IOSH Managing Safely in the Exhibition and Events Industry
