Set yourself aside both the time and budget to train your staff properly. It is all to often we see companies not knowing what they are doing or even why they are there.

All onsite staff understand objectives and target audience
Personal responsibilities and targets are identified – including a stand manager
Staff hours, timetable and dress code agreed
Staff know location of stand, press office, organisers office etc
Catering for the stand confirmed
Demonstration of products and services confirmed
Details of competitions/incentives/give ways communicated
Health and safety issues understood
Needs and motivation of visitors considered
Best practice behaviour for staff demonstrated e.g how to open conversations, collect data, process enquiries and politely deal with time wasters.
